“Acreditar sempre..... e até o fim.”Frase curta. Palavras poucas. Um gesto largo no ar, como que empurrando esse fim para um depois, mais e muito além. E assim foi o fazer e o realizar do artista. Acreditando sempre em si, nas certezas de ser, como também naquelas de não ser, o caminho da sua arte. Acreditando sempre no fazer para realizar, mesmo que os contrários sejam muitos, os valores, desvalores e a angústia a espreitar as inseguranças da vida. Acreditando sempre e até o fim realizou uma obra fora do tempo. Hoje ou em qualquer tempo, Amilcar de Castro sempre irá surpreender e preencher nosso olhar, nossa alma, com o inusitado, o novo, a arte pura de um mestre que, com sabedoria, empurrou o fim para um depois, mais e muito além do tempo. Possível apenas quando a vida e a arte, mutuamente atraídas, realizam o incomum, o raro e impensável.
